Barclaycard PPI help needed please

Just wondered if anyone had any advise please?
I recently paid for my statuatory credit report to check with previous lenders if I ever had PPI (sanity check really as I have never knowingly taken or wanted it)
Quite a lot of the companies came back saying yes !!!129324; needless to say I put claims in with them all!
With regards my Barclaycard they wrote to me saying yes I have it, they then called me on 8th Feb to go through the details. The advisor told me that it was still on the account and had been since I took the card out in May 2006. I called them back on 19th Feb for an update and to check that they had cancelled it and was told by the advisor that it was still on my account but that she would send a request for it to be cancelled.
I called again today to confirm it had been cancelled, for the advisor to say that it had been cancelled in August 2006.
Why would various people say that it is still live for them today’s advisor to say it was cancelled 3 months after taking the card out?
Can anyone help as to what I can do in order to clarify the correct details please?

    Admin errors.

    Ask them to confirm the situation in writing.

    Thank you, i was going to call them and ask for the address to send a complaint in. I’ll give them a call and ask for it in writing, just out of interest they can’t say it was cancelled way back when if it wasn’t can they?

    Stop telephoning the call centres and cancel the phantom insurance via your online account or request it by mail. Either way, you'll then get a definitive response from the bank.

    I see no cause for complaint at present, just clarification.

    EDIT;
    Incidentally, if you are still using your credit card and the PPI is still active it will appear itemised on a separate line on every monthly statement when your account has a balance. If the PPI doesn't show each month then clearly you no longer have PPI.

    I just felt a little lost when they have written to me telling me it’s on my account, 2 people have said it is still live and then another says it was cancelled years ago. How can they see different things?

    I will give them a call and ask for confirmation again in writing

    Stop calling random call centre operators (and read the edit to my earlier post)
