PPI money withheld

I recently asked a PPI company to check a PPI claim with my previous bank RBS as they promised they could trace any account, even of I did not have any paperwork. I received a surprise when they said that RBS had already nearly paid out £5000, to a previous PPI claim company.

The last time I asked a company to check RBS PPI claim the reply I got from the company was that RBS could not find any evidence of an account/loan I had with them, unfortunately I cannot remember the companies name. However, this new company had manged to find my three accounts with RBS.

Can anyone advise on how I can trace back who the claims company is, how to get my money, as they are obviously holding the money for me to help me gain interest, plus any other information on how to move forward with this problem.

No claims company are paid directly by Banks. If you had a successful PPI complaint, it would have been paid directly to you and the Claim Company would then have to bill you personally.

So no one (other than perhaps the bank) is "holding" this money.

To be honest, none of this sounds remotely feasible.

Just found their number so going to give them a ring tomorrow.

Not sure as the only time I have got a PPI back was an old credit card. The PPI company told me they received the money and told me my amount after they fee. I then received a cheque from the PPI company. Going to ring RBS tomorrow and see what they have to say.

Since Banks won't pay Claims Companies directly, this can't have happened in the manner you say...
