Time limit to payout

I was knocked off my motorbike at the end of October 2017. The driver accepted responsibility and my insurer put my claim through a Claims Management company. My insurer has said the bike is a write off (I am covered third party only) but I have yet to get either the money or my bike back. It appears the driver's insurer has yet to report on what they are going to do (repair or write -off).
It is now more than 4 months and I have no bike and no payout. Is there a time limit on how long the other party can prevaricate?

Did you take out legal protection? If so contact them and get them to push it.

Your claim management company should have got you a hire whilst your claim as being sorted out.

Mum had a non fault claim that took almost 2 years to settle.
