broken lcd tv returned after 13 months; sales of goods act!

hi, justed wanted to say thanks to all those with regards to the sales of goods act. today my bush lcd tv became faulty so i took it back to argos after 13 months with the reciept. the assistant said there was nothing we can do, so i asked for the manager, then he said the same. so i quoted the sales of goods act to him and he seem to go a bit red and said i can have a full refund minus 10%, so i got £450 back after spending £500 13 months ago! the equivalent tv is now on sale for £350 so i am very pleased. thank you money saving people. jamie:-)

Well done Jamie... gives me some hope as I was sold a faulty TV earlier this month and was getting worried that the more time passed the less likely I would be able to get a refund. But your story gives me hope! :) I'm in the process now of getting the money back off my credit card company as the seller (Pixmania) refuses to give me a refund without an engineer coming round first! :(

They do have the right to inspect the equipment before they refund

That's perfectly fair, as long as they foot the bill!

I accept that. But what I failed to mention was that their engineers could only come round Monday to Friday during office hours... which was when I was in the office.

I couldnt get the time off and didnt think I should have to for something which wasnt my fault... :(
