We sold an unregistered property 5 years ago, but the paperwork was impeccable (and beautiful!) and the property last transferred before compulsory registration, so all straightforward.
Whilst I'm sure there are a few probates who have taken longer than 18 years, I think that's the longest I've heard of on this board (someone come along and correct me!).
A bit off topic, but I wonder if these properties are sitting empty - which seems a great shame.0
