Hello all,
I am new here, I am at my wits end and so stressed. I had a medical assessment in October 2017 the assessor was a complete !!!, he didn't have a clue about some of my conditions and didn't ask the right questions. Basically my ESA was stopped in October and I have had not a penny since. I have had some help from my Mother who is a pensioner, really is not her place to support me at this age. I phoned the DWP to ask for a reconsideration.. The first lady I spoke to didn't log it on the system so when I called back a month later no one knew anything. This time it was logged. I then sent what I needed to along with a letter from my consultant. Another 6 weeks later I rang to ask what was going on, they hadn't received it. They gave me an address that could not be recorded at the post office!! I sent it with my name and address on the back, it did not come back to me. So now I am waiting again for them to send me an envelope with an address I can record at the post office. I am so stressed. I don't know what to do. I won't claim JSA cos I am 100% I cannot work, as is my consultant! Cannot get hardship payments, there are no grants available for people like me. So I am guessing it will be another couple of months before I hear anything. How am I meant to live day to day without any money? I live with my Mother so I do have a roof over my head and food but I worry about my Mother, she isn't well off either. I can't believe the DWP can do this and think it's ok! Is there something I can claim that I may not know about? Any help right now is much appreciated.

If you are able to get to your local Job Centre you need to call them and make an appointment to take the documents to them and for them to make copies. Explain that you have sent the information before and it hasn't been received and that this has been going on for a number of months.
Don't just turn up at the JC as they won't see you without an appointment.

You can use recorded delivery to the address for the MR. When do you have to wait for an envelope that you can use recorded delivery?

Perhaps you mean the Post Office receipt said the address was not verified?

That happens all the time and is nothing to worry about.

Did you track the letter via Royal Mail website?

Recorded delivery doesn't have a great success rate for showing as delivered/Signed For but I've not had many (if any) problems when going to central places like DWP.

Why do you need to wait for them to send you an envelope? You can ring DWP ask them for the address for you to send the MR request letter to. Once they've given you the address, the send it recorded delivery.

As you are now outside the 1 month timeframe for the MR request, even though you do actually have 13 months. (with good reason) When you do write the MR request with the reason why disagree and what group you think you should have been put into, you also need to put the reasons why you're request is outside the initial month.

The lady on the phone wanted to send me this envelope, She insisted!! the first address was the ESA 11 Freepost which they couldn't record at the post office.

The ESA 11 FREEPOST address, they could not record it for me.
