Best New Bank Account without Switching.

Hi
I am looking at opening a bank account for savings and everyday use, but I have tried ringing a few banks and looking online and the only ones that seem to be available at the minute are ones where you switch from your old bank, but I don't want to do this, I just want to open another separate account with a new bank possibly with an incentive to open it! My wife opened one a few years back with Lloyds and got a great benefit card which continues every year but I just can't seem to find any bank offering a new bank account? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Dave.

Switching is entirely optional. I know of no current account provider who will only open an account if you switch to it.0

As stated above just go to any bank or building society website and apply for a current account you do not need to switch0

Is there any reason why you cannot open a Club Lloyds account?

Or you might consider a TSB Plus?

Or a Nationwide Flexdirect?

I'm after a second bank account too, but don't want to switch - do any banks offer an incentive to just open a new account, or is the cashback just for switching?0

Just tried the TSB account you mentioned my wife has one there too so thought we would get the £75 bonus but no luck as you only seem get cashback etc if you switch but i already have a seperate HSBC account and want to open another account but it looks like you only get rewards if you switch banks so bit of a con if you actually want to open one0

It's not unreasonable to have to jump through a few hoops in order to earn the free money, but in any case the usual solution on here applies - if you don't wish to move all your banking business to the one offering a switching incentive, then just open a second current account with your existing provider and switch that instead, after ensuring that it's compliant with the terms of the offer, such as direct debits, etc. Simples!0 -

It isn't a con. They want you to move your day to day banking to them, so they offer an incentive to switch your account. There are some who gain the system by sticking to the letter of the terms and conditions, without actually moving their day to day banking, but that is just life and the banks absorb this as a business cost.
If you want a second account then the banks will allow you to do this, but they won't offer you an incentive because it is not in their interests. If you want an incentive then open a second account with HSBC and then apply to switch it to one of the banks that is offering a switching incentive.0 -
Based on the subject line I'd say Tesco Bank. 3% on up to £3000 as well as an excellent app is winner for meRemember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0

Thanks for all the help, I will only be putting about £600 per month in and have a direct debit so it fall short of some banks terms0
