Declined Life Insurance

I’ve been declined life insurance due to my medical history. I’ve seen the adverts for these over 50’s ‘no questions asked’ policies, and wondered if there is anything similar for people under 50?

Not as far as I am aware, but there are policies where they can be a little more flexible on the underwriting.
One insurer declining you does not mean they all will, but you might find the premiums are quite a lot more than the standard rates premiums (potentially 3-4 times more). It might be worth speaking to a specialist broker - I say that as someone who is not one, so hopefully you can read this as an impartial suggestion.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. I have seen posts recently where someone recommended insurers or brokers, who specialise in people with specific medical issues, so I hope they'll chime in with some suggestions.
Obviously if you have specific medical issues, there are likely to be exclusions from the cover or higher premiums, but it should be possible to secure something.

Hi,
If you have been declined by several mainstream insurers, you need to try those who specialise more in finding cover as suggested.
You should not necessarily need to accept or ideally accept any exclusions. There is no point buying a policy that isn!!!8217;t going to pay out - but you will as said have to pay more if your medical health is impaired.
Even if you were over 50 - these Over 50 plans are not often seen as good value. But, for few people or specific reasons they may be the only option. MSE has some advice on this.
You may not want to disclose your conditions here (quite right) - but if you type life insurance + your condition name (most serious if more than one) into google - that will tend to return details of a number of possible specialists who may be able to help.
The process to arrange will tend to be more offline and convoluted because of your conditions.
Post again if you get stuck.I am just thinking out loud - nothing I say should be relied upon!
I do however reserve the right to be correct by accident.0 -
There is at least 1 provider offering a guaranteed acceptance policy to those under aged 50, Smart Insurance, however, the maximum sum assured is relatively low at something like £20k.
As has already been advised, just because one company has declined you doesn't mean they all will, although certain situations can make is highly unlikely that terms would be offered. If you were happy divulging then I reckon I'd know with a good degree of accuracy the likelihood of you getting a medically underwritten plan.
In regards to exclusions, no UK life provider includes exclusions (other than suicide in the first 12-months) on their plans, except for hazardous pastimes, but only when the applicants requests the exclusion to avoid an increased premium.0
