I'm looking to replace the brake pads and disc's on a Toyota yaris but are Apec or Quinton hazel brakes any good.

How much are you going so save on the sets?
Are you fitting them or are they being fitted for you, as the fitter may have a better idea.
Have a look on Eurocarparts for an idea of the costs, Pagid are quite good and reasonably priced.0 -

They're both fine. You might not want them for track days, or if you treat your commute like a track day, but for normal use they'll do the job perfectly well.
QH have been around for decades and I've used APEC stuff on all of ours over the past 7 or 8 years since I first saw them. No problems at all with them.
Alternative MSE Motoring response:
You do realise those brakes are the only contact your car has with the road and the only thing between it and the firey pits of Hell? You should never compromise on pads or disks because it'll make the Nuns cry kittens!0 -
quinton hazel are fine0

The discount code which is possibly still valid for Europarts website is
FEB70
However their prices do change on a more or less daily basis anyway.
As mentioned, QH is an established brand, there actually was a Mr Quinto Hazel, who built the company from its early days. Its been sold on a number of times, since.

Not suffered any squealing from ours fitted to a Pug, Mundano and 5 series. Maybe it's the way he fits them?0

I have asked someone that repairs cars and they said don't touch apec unless you want the brakes to squeal. They said they use pagid but they have gone down hill.
Is there any brand of brake pads the Jeremiahs you hang about with would recommend?0 -
Brake pads squeal when people don't put in the spring clips and coat the back of the pad with copperslip. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
