water damage to laminate flooring due to dishwasher installation

I recently installed a new dishwasher. A few weeks later we discovered the dishwasher had been leaking as water was coming up through the laminate flooring- the water warped the laminate flooring to the extent where it has to be replaced.
I have two questions:
1st question- my insurance company are replaing the laminate flooring under the buildings insurance. The company who are replacing the laminate flooring will need to remove the skirting boards to lay the flooring, but will not replace the skirting boards. Can I ask the insurance company to get another company in to replace the skirting boards?
2nd question- the insurance company rang me tonight to ask for the invoice for the dishwasher- they are going to pursue the dishwasher manufacturers for the money for the claim. I don't think there is anything wrong with the dishwasher- it was my bodged installation that is at fault. Should I point this out to the insurance company, or just let them continue to pursue the dishwasherr company? I think they are doing this through the legal cover- they say if they are successful I would get my excess back (£100)
Thanks
Ciara

is it worth making a claim? your premiums might go up for years to come and cost more in the longrun than replacing the floor yourself. is it alot of damage?0

I think it is worth making the claim- we are planning to sell the house next summer, and the floor looks bad enough that it would make a difference to the price,

Anyone else able to offer advice?
