cheap hostels in London, help please?

Hello everyone I need some urgent advice

I sadly have to leave the room in my flat (bit of a messed up situation), I need to find a cheap hostel in London till I find a new flat, looking to pay £90-£100 a week max, even if it means sharing a room with quite a few people (of course the less people the better)

Even if it’s a bit of a dingy hostel it’s ok, I’ll take it, I don’t have funds and I can’t be fussy at the moment. Most importantly, I can't eat up the deposit for another room in hostel charges

All hostels online have eye wateringly expensive prices even for 8 people dormitory, I need to get at least some sleep as I have a job... anyone know any hostels , maybe in zones 3 or 4 of London? I guess if they're a bit off the beaten track they'll be cheaper

Thank you very much for your help

  • Have you looked on Hostel Bookers and Hostel World? They have sort by price functions

    Otherwise, try the Couchsurfing website.

Do you have any friends or family in greater London who might let you kip on their floor?

Also, speak to your employer - they may be able to offer an advance on your wages (and/ or extra hours?), though of course you'll have to work out if you can manage this form of debt.
  • You could also look into property guardianship, my friend does that and pays around £100 a week in Central London.

If you Google 'Homeless Link Search' you can search for the very cheap homeless hostels in London but I'm not sure if you'll be eligible with a job.

Are you leaving where you are currently living because your landlord is getting a second lodger in? How is living in a cheap hostel better than remaining where you are or is it your landlord's idea that you move out?
  • You could try airbnb, there are a few beds and private rooms under £15 a night.

Good luck, hope you find a more permanent place soon. I'm sure you'll also need to be careful to avoid high letting agent fees eating into your budget for deposit and first month's rent. I'd recommend openrent, who charge the landlord not the tenant. Hopefully there are other online agencies that do the same.

no family nor friends who can host me here I'm afraid

I tried Hostel Bookers but most hostels online have high prices because well they're online so there's high demands. I was hoping to find a small cheap and cheerful hostel which might not have a website :rotfl:

    thanks for the suggestions.
