This has to be a wind up.

If this is a genuine post, the eBay seller has an absolutely minimal chance of succeeding as they are still in possession of the item.
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

Thanks for all the responses here, very helpful useful information, made me feel better.

The item was a used, second-hand LP. I need a few more to complete a small collection.
It sounds unlikely that this person has actually issued a small claim.
I wouldn't worry about it, until such point as you actually receive a claim.

Yes, this is approach I am going to take. I did some digging and I did find someone with the same name who is a legal secretary at a firm in the appropriate area, which could be here, but I'm not sure. I do have the mobile number now also. Unfortunately the name on the paypal account does not match up to the name on the eBay account.

    Thanks for the advice.

My girlfriend is having a hard-time at the moment and I don't want to make something so ridiculous worry her unless I absolutely have to do so. I do have other friends, one is a QC who deals with high-profile financial cases in London but again, I don't want to mention this to others unless its an absolute must.

I don't need legal aid, I was thinking of other costs for wasted time, expenses, etc.

Nope, this is a genuine thread. The seller actually made these accusations and I needed to ask around. Thanks for helping. Not a wind-up. I've seen and read about similar cases where this is a real scenario, but those are usually on houses and large ticket items like cars.

I hope you consider leaving a factual negative feedback once you receive the item!

Just ignore this idiot and wait for your item to arrive.

A court would not take a claim seriously unless a letter before action has been sent, which he hasn't. He is just an a-hole.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Still no post on the ebay board then?

They would be able to advise on the Paypal refund - whether it's possible and if so how to go about it.
