Indeed well spotted and thanks.
Here's my corrected copy:
Wed 1 August -- interest paid: 6.49
Thurs 2 Aug -- out: 5440.50, bal: 1
Fri 31 Aug -- in: 4999, bal: 5000
Wed 26 Sept -- out: 4949, bal: 51
Mon 1 Oct -- in: 4949, bal: 5000
Thanks too to RG2015 for the alternative solution, ie Marcus.0 -
Agreed, but if the balances (rather than the payments in/out) are correct then Potato Jacket should qualify for the interest. I've not checked mine for this month, but will do next.
P.s. RG2015, the Marcus rate is variable, so I'll be reviewing it on a frequent basis through this fine forum... rather than leaving it 12 months. But I'm sure that is what you meant anyway.0 -

Is there any point to this account now Marcus is here with 1.5% no catches for at least 12 months? No reason to keep a balance here at all as far as I can tell, unless you have huge amounts of cash you want to spread around.0

1.5% for at least 12 months?
Hard to miss the word 'VARIABLE' when you read this:

Therefore you should have received the interest on 1st October.
At a branch today:
"It's probably because you haven't built up enough balance over the month."
"But I have, look at the two calculation dates."
"It would take too long to check the dates so I'll just give you a full month's interest on 5000."
Gift horse, but not entirely satisfactory.0 -

I suspect the 'too long' is code for "I don't really understand the rules and don't want to embarrass myself by revealing that to a customer""In the future, everyone will be rich for 15 minutes"0 -
An update and heads-up for those still running this account. Interest for September was credited to mine this week. And the "spontaneous" credit resulting from my in-branch query on the 8th hasn't been reversed.0
