Landlord carpet claim

Blackshirtuk...
Yes I will definitely be getting in touch with them to find out how I go about doing this, so far because technically until 6pm tonight the property is still mine it hasn’t gotten that far yet I’ve just had an email off the letting agent staying I need to pay for it.
It was a inventory done by the landlady herself with pictures of the property - I’ve take my own pictures and it looks the same, the carpet mentioned isn’t on the pictures and the state of the carpet/floors was not on the inventory which we signed only the main bedroom as it had been professionally cleaned but that carpet is no issue.
The mould was down to a lot of things, we needed a new damp course which was done... by the landladies husband with a little help from youtube it took him the best part of an hour to do... I’m very aware that this was not the correct process and that it should take a hell of a lot longer.
The bedroom mould is due to a hole in the roof which was fixed surprisingly when we were not in safe to say the mould came back and we were just told to keep bleaching it which obviously is very safe to do in your main bedroom where your windows don’t open and close properly because they’re so old (another thing on the environmental report)
The kitchen mould was again another hole which was never fixed because the roofers van was broken into.
Bathroom mould isn’t so bad it was just due to the extractor fan not working.
They did try and blame the mould on condensation but the environmental health report mentions nothing about us causing it (clothes weren’t dried on radiators). The letting agent also tried to blame us breathing at night on the mould which yes it does cause condensation but we had our windows slightly open and it’s not like breathing is something which can be helped!
In terms of cleanliness, the house is clean in fact I’d say it’s spotless apart from again the mould which can’t be helped I’ve taken pictures the same as the inventory pictures and they’re identical.0 -

I don!!!8217;t think it is carpet moths, I couldn!!!8217;t say really it just looks more like shoddy carpet fitting. A lot of work done to the house was done by the landladies !!!8216;friends!!!8217; one of which we found out was paid in hay for doing work. Safe to say a lot of those jobs had to be re done and re done because they weren!!!8217;t being done properly. We met the plumber that many times we were like best friends0 -

There are tide marks visible in the living room where damp course needs to be done. There is also a chimney breast which was not filled properly and has no ventilation l. The plaster is falling off the wall in the kitchen and living room due to this not being done. There is efflorescence on the first 3 layers of bricks (don’t know what that is but it’s on the environmental report) missing cement filler on the roof, drainage falling into a hole, a hole in the roof amongst other things.
We were not at fault for any of the issues it was mainly structural issues.0 -
The letting agent has come back to me stating the house is not up to the landladies cleanliness standards... I!!!8217;ve Asked several people their opinion on the photos I!!!8217;ve taken and they all think she must be mad as it!!!8217;s spotless.
The letting agent has also send me the measurements for he carpet and told me to arrange for a new one to be fitted.
The carpet condition was not listed on the inventory check when we moved on and from the picture I have taken it just looks like the carpet has frayed due to poor fitting. Any help on this would be appreciated!0 -
Have you phoned Shelter to ask for advice?0

If there's no deposit whats the issue?
Tell them to jog on and let the insurance company try take you to court. Then you defend as you would any claim of damages0
