As far as I am aware any item purchased online cannot be returned to a store/shop, it has to be returned or complained via the website, ring customer services, it should state 'online sales' as a separate number.0

Smyths allow online returns to be taken to a store.

According to that link, only unwanted items - not damaged or faulty ones.0 -
This is an unwanted item though, rather than faulty or damaged. I read the OP as saying it had been misdescribed as having a CD, when it doesn't.
Contact customer services, tell them it was misdescribed, and ask how they want you to return it for your refund. (I'm presuming you haven't opened it?)All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -

In which case it is faulty since it is not as per the description upon which the customer made their decision to purchase.Contact customer services, tell them it was misdescribed, and ask how they want you to return it for your refund. (I'm presuming you haven't opened it?)
