POPLA and IPC/IAS not fit for purpose

POPLA and IPC/IAS not fit for purpose

As we all keep seeing, POPLA assessors are making
dreadful decisions and it seems to me that if you give
one case to two assessors, they will arrive at different
answers ? Highly unprofessional

It make you wonder which one lives on planet earth
and which one lives on the moon

The IPC/IAS, well what can you say, a members CLUB
designed to say NO to give Gladstones some work ?
Although it is noted that recently they allowed a couple
of appeals, maybe they are trying to impress someone ?

Now we have the new members bill with a code of practice
which will probably hurt parking companies. But there is
no point in this if the motorist is still left with assessors
who make gross mistakes and those who reject as
standard practice

We need a system the same as the Traffic Penalty Tribunal
which is financed by councils.
Such a system could be financed by private parking
companies

I am writing to Sir Greg Knight about this and would
suggest that everyone does the same.
We do not want more years of problems

I have used TPT twice and won because it is a fair
and unbiased service which is something we do not have now.

As TPT has facilities around the country, you can visit
them for a face to face, do it over the phone or post

This article is a "a day in the life" of TPT and whilst it
was written in 2014, it still remains the same to this day

THIS IS WHAT WE NEED

I agree, a proper TPT service that has integrity and doesn't depend on Trade Body payments or input to 'suggest' what questions they ask.

It must be a service with no BPA or IPC pressure on the Adjudicators, who should be trained in contract law and not allowed near a decision until they've read hundreds of old (original LondonCouncils) GOOD sensible decisions - they were the best and are not dated - and until these new Adjudicators have passed a stringent test about 'understanding keeper liability'.

Including knowing about company appellants who CANNOT be held liable ''as if they were the driver, because we've assumed the driver of a company leased car MUST be a worker on duty, even at 11pm on a Sunday at a McDonalds drive-thru'' (the utter drivel bandied around by POPLA recently - now they have a 'Sector Expert' whatever that is - vies with the IAS for kangaroo court styleee).

Henry Greenslade (POPLA, PATAS) or Caroline Sheppard (PATAS) would be ideal to head it.

I can't see them being swayed by 'assistance' offered by either ATA. Needs someone robust, who can smell a rat at twenty paces from private business who make unfair money from consumers.

And they should be able to force a PPC to cancel if the Equality Act 2010 has been breached.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
