Just thought I'd let you know where its all at at the minute.
I've spoken to the agent today, all offers have been faxed to the mortgagee so its just a waiting game now to see which they accept. It turns out someone else has put in a higher offer but they have only just accepted an offer on their house and their buyer hasn't even sold yet so agent said not to worry about that.
Hopefully won't be waiting too long to find something out.Life isn't a dress rehersal

Well we heard today that the mortgagee had decided to accept the first offer of £112k.
We found this a bit odd as we had been told they wanted more than this, anyway my DH phoned our solicitors to tell him and he found it odd too. He phoned agent and they are now saying it was because we were not in a strong enough position (seems agent has not told mortgagee full story!) they also don't seem to know that we were willing to go higher.
Waiting now to see what is said tomorrow, not holding out much hope. Feel annoyed though that it seems to have been messed up. :mad:Life isn't a dress rehersal

#1. The people that run these "sell your house and rent back" companies are generally lying thieves and are best avoided
#2. This time next year house prices in general will be lower than they are now
#3. Cheap houses are a good thing not a bad thing0 -

I am sure something dodgy is going on. :mad:Life isn't a dress rehersal

Well after lots of arguing it looks like its still going to go to the person that offered £112k.
Our solicitors even faxed the company to let them know we are about 2 weeks from completion on our sale and that we would be willing to increase our offer to £117k but it was still no because they are worried that our sale wil collapse!
Its an investment co that put in the £112 k so i guess they are cash buyers and will be quicker than us, still i wonder if the person whose house it was would be happy to know they had lost out on 5k.
Feeling very p***ed off at the min, off for a cup of tea to calm down.

Well its all changed since i last posted. We actually got the house in the end, and for £114500 so very pleased.
Things are progressing well so fingers crossed we should be ready to move in 3 weeks, yay!
I'm trying not to get too excited as i know it could all go pear shaped still. Will jump up and down when i finally have keys in my hand.
Busy now trying to get builders ready so they can start as soon as its ours, looks like we'll be spending christmas in a building site/house with no heating!

Well its all going through fine so far. Looks like we'll be moving on the 19th dec.
Does anyone know how I go about getting utilities switched back on? I've asked estate agents and solicitors and they are saying to phone when I move in, I want to get sorted before this as there's no electric, gas or water! I don't fancy a night or 2 without.
I've sorted the phone, really pleased because I was expecting to pay £125 connection charge but the line was only stopped so it was done for free. :j
