Possibly yes. From the number of auctions I see that are repeated "due to timewasters" I've never used that method, I just use Classified Ad and people come to view & buy then. For a car valued at £5-6k I'm not sure I'd trust an auction format - how many people buy a £6k car unseen, fixed price with offer would seem easier if your price is realistic.
Most recent car I sold was in that price bracket, low miles Ford Fiesta. I put it on Ebay for £5995 planning on taking £5600. Offer of £5k from someone who hadn't seen the car was rejected and then didn't get any others (late November) I checked local garage and they agreed to sell for me instead. They priced it at £6995 on agreement that I'd get £5900 and 2 months later I had the money. First time I've ever sold that way and it was very easy.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0
