Solid Oak Exterior Doors?

Where can i get a good solid Wooden door such as Oak and also have it fitted, i don't trust these Composite Solid core things because of the bad reviews.
I have a solid Oak front door which has been here since 1988 and i have only treated it once, it has moved a little bit over time but it is still rock solid and the Chubb Deadlock has been on it forever.
I can see doors for sale online but non seem to have fitting services, i like to touch and feel the item before i buy.:undecided
My original door was purchased from a superstore in the UK which used to exist many years ago called "Texas".
Enjoy everyday like it's your last!

A local carpenter will supply and fit. They are more likely to know far more about decent doors than you would. They will also be far more clued up on currents locks and hinges.

You can select a door by visiting local builders merchants. Door ranges will be stocked - be this Premdor, Jeldwen or whoever. These merchants will also be able to get anything you specify made to your requirements.

You could put these routes together - you buy the door having arranged a carpenter to fit it, or the carpenter buys the door on your behalf and does a supply and fit. The latter would be the hassle free route for you.

You will be lucky to source a solid Oak door from any online or local suppliers such as jeld-wen, Howdens,Wickes etc.

Most sell Oak "engineered" doors which usually means its a softwood core overlayed with Oak veneer. If you want a genuine solid Oak door you will need to get it made for you by a local/nationwide Joinery. "Engineered" doors don't tend to last more thn 10yrs or so.

    ^^^^^^^^^^ Sound advice

Realistically the only way to get a solid door is to have one made for you :(
