PPI Query

Hi,
I was just wondering when PPI generally stopped being sold on personal loans? I took out a loan in April 2010 with home shopping personal finance and am unsure whether it had PPI on it.

I have sent off a questionnaire anyway but just wondered if its likely not to have been added in 2010?

Definitely at the latter end of the period when PPI was still sold, some providers had stopped far earlier than this.
Why on earth did you send a "complaint" rather than simply enquire directly if you had PPI? Now you'll have to wait eight weeks for a response. What were your "complaint" reasons?

I did enquire to RBS asking if I had PPI rather than submitting a complaint and they sent me a form to fill in. I rang them asking if this meant there was PPI on and they said no I had to fill this form in before they could find out if there was PPI. The loan number was on the letter they sent so they definitely have the account information.

When I applied online I remember ticking or unticking the box (whichever way you had to do it) saying I didn't want PPI so chances are it wasn't on there but just wanted to make sure.
