EE mobile phone problems in Tenerife

I was in Tenerife in December and did not have any problems, last Saturday we arrived in Peuerto de la Cruz. No phone or data for some time. After a couple of hours we were connected to Yoigo and blocked from all other service providers.
We can not make or receive phone calls. The screen shows that a call is being made but it is silent, no dial tone.
The only way I can see to contact EE is to ring them but I cannot.
Others on O2 do not have this problem.
My phone is an Xperia XA I think!

Call EE from another phone.
Restart your phone if you haven't done this already.0 -
Hopefully this link will open.

Yoigo are a major Spanish network and service provider - maybe some of these local 'phone numbers can help ?0 -
Any joy resolving this problem ?0

Does your phone let you manually select the phone network? On iphone you can turn automatic network provider off and choose a different provider - the one where you can get a dial tone/internet!0

Thanks for the help. EE does not allow me to select, all other service providers are blocked.
I just tried to ring UK, no connection. My partner on Tesco payg then rang and got through straight away.
I spoke to the Yoigo shop in town and they said that there are too many trying to use their network, its only designed for local use.
Massive savings for EE! I have free minutes and cannot use them.
Some thing for Martin to take up?
I will be leaving EE mobile and our landline which uses obsolete equipment according to Outreach engineers.

I could not get Yoigo when above was taken. Help EE users please Martin.

Have you tried using your EE sim in a different handset, to see if it connects and works normally?Evolution, not revolution0

You should take it up with EE in the first instance to get their response.
Then you can suggest that if Yoigo can't handle the volume of traffic due to tourists needing roaming services EE should make other arrangements for customers.
You can always copy it to MSE for information at this stage.0 -
Different sized sim.
Arrived at airport and it is just like it was when we arrived, no phone signal or data.
Fortunately TFS has free WiFi. I can now see our plane left Manchester at 21.13.
During our two weeks my phone rang on two occasions, two rings each time then went off. Tried ringing back and it was the silent call again, I presume my phone trying to contact Yoigo unsuccessfull screen shot below shows service providers blocked by EE, no sign if Yoigo!

Edit.
Thomson's in their wisdom about midnight decided to keep us here for the night! Our plane due to collect. Us would be landing just after 1am. Anyway we went to Bahia Princess in Adeje.
Still no service as we drove out of the airport and onto the motorway.
A few miles later while passing Los Cristianos the Yoigo service appeard.
This morning about 7am I tested the service, it worked!!!
I am satisfied that my thoughts have been right all the time. Its just a cheap rubbish Spanish service provider that EE have locked me into.
I will be taking this up with EE on my return.
Other EE users be warned.
Thanks again for all your advice.
