Hello there, i've been looking at the Halifax FTSE 100 tracker ISA, I want to invest more than the £3,000 Mini-cash ISA limit but don't want to deal with setting up a regular savers account. Are these managed S&S ISAs any good?

It's a TRACKER, it's NOT managed!!! A computer technician has created a program to mirror the FTSE 100 index.0 -
Can pretty much guarantee that a Halifax fund will be more expensive and worse performing than one available elsewhere. Best bet is to go to a fund supermarket and see what you can find there.scott_lawrence wrote: »Hello there, i've been looking at the Halifax FTSE 100 tracker ISA, I want to invest more than the £3,000 Mini-cash ISA limit but don't want to deal with setting up a regular savers account. If you want actively managed funds, then you need to be going for non-trackers. They're generally more expensive, but if you pick a good one it will almost always outperform the index and therefore the tracker, so the added expense buys you generally better performance but also protection against downturns in the market.
Hargreaves Lansdown do very good deals on managed collective funds, so see if you like what they offer. http://www.h-l.co.ukI am a Chartered Financial Planner

To be fair to Halifax, they do buck the trend and their funds are not badly priced. However, their performance is pretty dire almost across the range.
You wouldnt buy your investments from any bank unless you like buying poor quality products and/or overpriced products.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
