Failure over expiry period of guarantee

We have a Zanussi induction hob with a 24 months guarantee. After about 23 months the hob started peeping or switching off unexpectedly so we called the authorised repairman.
The repairman appeared but said he could not find the fault because it was intermittent.
We are now up to about 27 months and the fault appears to have become a hard fault. Should I expect the hob to be repaired under the guarantee ?

Should you expect it? No
Should you ask for it? Up to you
You don't mention who the retailer was but your legal rights are with them. A guarantee/warranty is in addition to those legal rights. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0
