NPE parking fine

Hi guys,

So basically my story is I "parked" car next to the public road where is yellow lines so couldn't stop on side of the road as it's really narrow.
I felt sick that they and felt that I need to stop somewhere as I couldn't drive because of that. So I stopped in private parking space. I didn't step out of the vehicle at all just my girlfriend did to go to the nearest cash machine to check balance so she can buy me pain killers but unfortunately she didn't have the money so she came back really quick. After some while like 1 Month they send me letter from DRP ( Debt recovery Plus and the creditor was National Parking Enforcement) with no evidence at all, no 14 day time to pay it less straight away with £160 ticket. So ignored it as there was no evidence nothing just saying that I need to pay. I received maybe 3 letters from them saying that they will take me to court etc if I will not pay. Okay recently they send me a letter from Zenith Collections also saying that I owe them money because they now bought it from National Parking Enforcement for discounted price. And offered me to pay £136 instead in 14 days if not it will go back to old amount which is £160 and treathing me with court actions. So I gave them a call and said that for what I need to pay? I don't have any evidence etc just some random letters saying that I owe someone money. So after half an hour arguing I ask him to send me email with evidence. So he did that and it shows that I was "parked" there 3 MINUTES. I think it's ridiculous and they just trying to get easy money from people. What is the best action I should do with this. Also he said that they sent 8 letters in total but I received maybe 3 or 4 of them as I live in house where is 5 flats and 1 front door where all post are always left. I think they should provide postage with signature service to make sure I get it in my hands. I really don't want to pay for something I don't feel guilty about as it was because of my Health and I think there is no rules if something like that happens. As I could make a accident if I would continue to drive or leave my car on side of the road. My car is lowered so I can't drive on path even so I would need to leave it in middle of the road!! Can someone help please. And sorry to Admins if something like that showed up before, I tried to look some other post but couldn't find something similar.
Thank you.

    IGNORE the debt collectors

read post #4 of the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread

there are hundreds of debt collector threads on here , same advice - IGNORE

edit your last post to remove any hint of who was driving

what happened on the day happened to the DRIVER

what has happened since happened to the KEEPER

    only use those 2 terms

Sorry, can you break up the first post into paragraphs so we can read it?

If it's about DRPlus, no need for further advice, it's already here on the forum. IGNORE.
So I gave them a call
    Please stop doing that, NOW.

Next time a letter arrives from DRPlus or Zenith - NO reaching for the phone!

It will, if not on a phone or tablet, which is not the recommended way to use this forum.

Strange I use a tablet all the time and have no problems. I suspect it could be a part of MSE anti-spam measures restricting what new users can do.
  • That might be the case, as I'm using phone but will edit post from PC tomorrow just to follow all forum rules or I'm happy that Admins delete it as I got what I needed. So want to say a massive thanks to all who help and I hope advices i got ( KEEP IGNORING THEM ) will not make me more problems. ;)

It's not so much forum rules you need to worry about, although of course they are important too, it is the fact that you often throw away an easy winning point by giving away clues to the driver's identity.
