To whom should I send my ppi claim if at all.

Took out a mortgage with Portman Building Society through a broker in 2002. Same broker set me up with PPI with Pinnacle insurance. Pinnacle subsequently taken over becoming Cardif Pinnacle.
I have been advised that the Plevin case does not apply to insurance companies - therefore have I got a case?

Correct. It doesnt apply to insurers. Or rather, it can do but not with CP. The insurer has to have sold the loan as well at the same time for it to be liable for a unfair relationship complaint. The insurer didnt sell the loan in your case so there is no unfair relationship potential.

Also, mortgage broker PPI is typically around 20-35%. Well below the 50% tipping point. Mortgage brokers didnt use profitshare like the banks (and its only the profitshare that is taking the banks own policies over the tipping point)

Plevin only applies to rejected PPI complaints. If you've yet to send a complaint then it has no bearing on your circumstance.

You would send any PPI complaint to the broker who sold you the PPI, though as this is pre-regulation (2005) they won't have to consider your complaint.

If the broker has ceased trading then you could try the insurer, but your chances are slim.
