Good morning and Hello March :j

Finally I'm at my new starting point.
School is closed due to the weather so DD is very happy! I still had to come to work as it is only a short walk, typical lol
So, yesterday was a NSD and I am aiming for the same today - should fine, I have no money to spend ;)
Tomorrow is payday so after work I will triple check my spreadsheet..well my bit of paper with scribbles on. I wouldn't call it a tight month but I will just need to use the 'Do I need it or want it?' This usually gets the 'You have no debt so go on, treat yourself!' answer :o Must be strong and remind myself why I am doing this in the first place.

    Good Morning Diary!

    PayDay finally!
Paid my credit card off this morning, £111.32 So that is clear again :)
Paid money to DD school account - not that she'll be in until Monday and that is the earliest.
Will organise monies into their 'envelopes' later and transfer some into my savings pot.
Took out £20 for the pet food fund and brought cat meat as that was needed.

Snow is at least a foot deep here but I made it to work on foot! Beat the bosses here too and had to dig us in lol Employee of the year to me :T
Think that is all for now. Feeling positive for March!
Keep that card in your purse HoneyBee

    Hello Diary and Hello Monday!

So payday has been and I was very good over the weekend sticking to my budget :T
I wanted today as a NSD but I need some lunchbox bits for DD. I didn't have my bottle of wine over the weekend as I couldn't be bothered to walk all that way in the snow lol That £4 will more than cover what I need, I have that in my purse and left my card at home so I'm not tempted to buy more. I also need a birthday card for Nan but that'll be covered too, I have a birthday fund so will take money from there for flowers on her actual birthday.
I have left our entertainment money in the 2nd account so it isn't burning a hole in my pocket, I'm wondering if that'll help, perhaps 'seeing' my money go down will stop me spending so easily.

DD is back at school, we can get back to normal now.
    On with the savings!

What a beautiful day! Hope the sun stays shining all weekend

Well, a week after payday and all funds have been put in their new homes...I'm still within budget too.
I haven't yet updated my signature but will soon, I do like seeing my saving growing :)

It's Mother's day this Sunday and I have money set aside for flowers, card already brought. DD and I are off for lunch but I have already set cash aside, It's at our favourite place so I pretty much know the prices, no shocks at the bill lol My mum is recovering from a small operation so we will celebrate when she is up for leaving the house.

I'm counting down the days 'till April payday :o I just really want my funds to keep growing and I'm getting so close to my final totals! The parents are urging me not to rush into moving and I won't be, as much as I am looking forward to having our own place again it would be lovely to have more than I am looking to save - the bigger the emergency fund the more relaxed I will be. Plus, if we are buying we need the house to be perfect!
They are pushing the whole 'Take advantage of it now as you won't get the chance again' :rotfl: I definately am! Certainly need to treat them to a few more meals out etc as a Thank you!
I have been setting aside money for furniture/decorating but luckily my grandparents are insisting on buying us the white goods - defo will need a washing machine and I imagine a fridge/freezer, I don't want to rely on them for this but to have one of these as a gift would be extremely appreciated!

Right, on with my afternoon :)

I like seeing my savings grow as well! Then I don't like spending the money as that would mean my savings go down. Today my savings will probably go down but that's because I will pay my car insurance in full! This is the first time in a long while that I have been able to do that.

I also need to update my signature, that will be done today.

And how lovely of your parents to say make the most of it while you can. That's good that they are not pushing you out sooner than you need to and you have time to find the perfect house.

And yayy to grandparents buying something you need as a gift. Grandparents are lovely like that.

    Hello Hello Thursday!
It has been manic this end and I have neglected my diary :o

Mumoffourkids - I know! My parents and Grandparents are wonderful, We are very lucky :)
Must pop over and catch up on your diary.

Well, 18 days till payday and I must be honest my funds are looking weak...infact they are shattered :( Its been a month where unexpected expenses have occured. Mainly clothing/shoes for school and work...I also went for lunch with a friend and handed over the plastic :o
I just can't get out of the 'You have no debt, you can pay it off next month' That little voice needs to find new digs!

My budget for next month has been derailed slightly but I can still squirrel away a nice sum and clear the credit card- again!
Looks like I'm back to square 1 in April :(:(

    Morning Diary!

Hello May :) First day and its lovely outside, shame I'm stuck in the office!
Well....here I am, I'm back. My poor negleted diary :o
As my title tells April was a flop!

Positives - I did save money into both accounts and I am still debt free!
Negatives - I didn't save as much as I could of
I spent far too much...wasted far too much I should say!

So I let April slide and decided May will give the kick up the bum I need as I am planning on being in the new house by Sept latest.
Once I am responsible for all bills again I know I will regin my spending in so I need to get into that frame of mind now!

My plan...I know the bills and amounts I will be covering so I am picking a date for each (Council tax/Water etc) and transferring that said amount on that day. This way it isn't lurking in my account asking to be spent!! Hopefully if I have my monthly budget and ONLY that money available I will think twice before handing over the paper or plastic :o I can but try!
Looking over my bank statements I am shocked at what it gets wasted on
I have told DD that we need to behave this month so I can get a handle on the spends, she is totally onboard, especially with the thoughts of holidaying in Australia 2019/20!
I will post at least twice a week and really hold myself accountable...It'll happen this time, I am promising myself!

    Thanks JoJoC :)

3 Days into the new system and so far all is well...

Hopefully my rent can come out a day or 2 after payday so that has now been shifted to my new savings account entitled BILLS.
I will tick the box of 10th for council tax so will transfer that next week, thinking I might shift £50.00 over to cover water rates today too. If I stick to this each month I should have a second little nest egg ready for the move and hopefully trained my brain a little :o:o
Will look over dates for gas and sky etc as the month goes on.
I hate dipping into savings so once it is in there I know I won't be touching it.

Spends budget has lost £10.00 as we needed toiletries and DD needed stationary for school but that's fine. She is with her dad this weekend so I shouldn't spend much really, will concentrate on freebie things to do like walking my pooch and finally finishing my book! The weather is supposed to be really nice so I can sit in the garden and start my tan off :T
Remembered to bring lunch from home so saving £3 there, will pop that into our pound tin - will be interesting to count that at the end of the month too
