Holly I am invoking every appropriate Deity I can think of; I am so very angry on your behalf.
I sometimes think some (not all, obviously) consultants are so far up their own backsides that they couldn't see Reality if it clocked them in the face!
I get the "GP over-ridden by a psychiatrist who doesn't know you" bit - been there, done that. Thankfully in my case it was only to do with a change of meds, and the GP changed it right back as soon as it was clear the new meds could literally kill me.
I have often railed against the total lack of MH support there appears to be around here; but given what our poor Holly is being put through, maybe I should be grateful that I'm just being fed Moclobemide and being left to get on with it as best I can.
Anyways..... other than that, I am awaiting the arrival of little Suzie the Cavalier King Charles, due here at about 16:00 this afternoon; and I have a WM-load of Mr LW's clothes waiting to be hung on the A-frame over the bath, so I'd better go and see to that.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Warmer today than yesterday......6c instead of _1c yesterday, OH in for Warfarin check, then to DD4 for visit with granddaughters 4,5 and 6, they were all in good form and plied us with bought Oxford Lunch Cake, something I love but have never managed to make to my satisfaction.....any got a recipe?
Not on dinner duty tonight so going to knit or crochet this afternoon, have 2 works in progress for OH's niece whose baby is due at the weekend....hoped to do more as her Mam died 15 years ago and I feel responsible for her, she is a lovely girl.
Holly....you have been on my mind since yesterday, hopefully someone in authority will see sense and take care of your needs at home, all governments and health authorities seem to choose the most expensive and least helpful way of helping people when they need it......stay strong.
Hester......no idea where the suggested solution to your DD's problems could have come from, illustrates my above point exactly.
Need some soup as porridge I had for breakfast has run its course and I am hungry!
Will be back to check on Holly

No news from / about Holly yet.
My little sojourn at the garage has been expensive. Car passed its MOT OK. There were four advisory notes about the tyres and brake pads so I decided to have it all done there and then. Even with a 20% discount on everything apart from the three new tyres, the total was over £800.00. not too bad if divided by the three years I’ve had the car but still a lot. No more caviar here for a while.
Going off to lie down in a darkened room to recover. :rotfl:0 -
I think Holly had been told to expect the psychiatrist at 11.30 today...she was last online at 11.06am. Hope she's ok.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Good afternoon everyone :hello:
Well it's been a very pleasant day today. Becky had an appointment to see her psychiatrist this morning so my sister Amy came to collect us to take us to see him. The appointment went well and so Amy suggested we go back to hers for lunch as all my other sisters and my mum would be there. That was a nice surprise for me and I got to spend time with three of my nieces and my nephew as well.
Becky coped really well with all the social activity and was very relaxed and chatty which was so lovely to see. When we got back home, she had another appointment with her Assertive Outreach workers and that also went very well. I have now sent her to town to get another front door key cut as she has lost hers and I am going out to lunch tomorrow with my friend so she will need to be able to let herself in from school.
Gosh it's absolutely freezing here today, I just can't seem to get warm. The sun is shining though so that is nice to see. I need to have a tidy up in a minute as my sister Caroline who is down from Wales is going to pop over and see us later as we didn't get much chance to chat earlier. Oh well, pushing a hoover around will certainly warm me up a bit.
I'm cooking meatballs and spaghetti for dinner tonight. I have some garlic bread to throw in the oven as well for the hungrier people here. I also want to make a lemon drizzle cake as well so I will need to get off the computer and get going in a minute.
I've been thinking of Holly all day. Hopefully she will be well looked after wherever she is. It's very scary to be taken against your will so I hope she has lots of support in real life as well as all the virtual support on here.Hopefully she will get a chance to post later when things are a bit more settled.
Well, that's it for now, hope you all had a good day whatever you were doing, take care xx0 -

HollyH Just caught up and I'm thinking of you.
So sorry you are going through all this and it all seems very wrong to me to tell someone they are going to be sectioned, against their will, then cancel the same day appointments and leave them alone for the night:(
I can only hope you are doing ok and know you have a lot of support from the very caring people on this thread.
Hopefully hear from you soon and in the mean time, I am, like all here, thinking of you x'I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thought
And I ain't got the power anymore'0 -
Holly
I have been away all day and just found out what is happening. Crossing fingers and toes that you will be able to stay where you are and that your gp will be listened to.
Youngest is about to move to a new flat and area and I am being a guarantor but paperwork only arrived late yesterday so too late to post in time. I got the train to Manchester and then a taxi and delivered the paperwork personally and finally got back home around four.
Bit the bullet and rejoined a slimming club last night and want to get myself fitter and healthier so low fat mince is defrosting for tomorrow and might make shepherds pie with carrot and swede topping.
Someone is coming round tomorrow morning to fix the damaged section of the conservatory window so will make sure I am up and dressed early. I contacted the company selling the fancy pressure cooker as it has still not arrived and hopefully that will get sorted out. I want to make bone broth and that type of cooker should do that quickly and easily without using lots of fuel and steaming up the kitchen.
Hugs to all0 -
Just popped back on hoping for news of/from HOLLY but nothing.
Just caught up on all your posts as been missing all day. Left for St James at 9.30 and got home again at 5.30. It;s been a LONG day. Mr TA had his injection and mentioned the pain/discomfort he has been having this last week. The nurse had a word with one of the doctors (the one we saw last month) and she agreed to see him after lunch if we popped back. So went to the restaurant and had leek and bacon soup (which was lovely) with a sandwich followed by a naughty but nice cream cake. Then back up to the Oncology clinic and saw the doctor. She asked loads of questions and examined him but could find no reason for the flare up. As it is now slightly easier she decided to leave well alone and to go back if it returns.
I'm now ready for an early night and hope for a decent night's sleep. Sweet dreams everyone, hope the Sandman is out and weaving his magic and maybe tomorrow we will have news of HOLLY. I can't stop thinking about her. Take care all xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0
