eBuyer claim item delivered, won't help

Hi all,
I ordered an SD card a few weeks ago from Ebuyer, after chasing they claim it was delivered by Yodel and have a signature to "prove" it. The signature they sent is certainly not mine!
They claim there is nothing they can do so I'm now £40 out of pocket - is there anything I can do? It seems a little unfair to order something from such a larger company and be told tough luck...

How did you pay? If it was by debit or credit card, then try contacting your card provider and ask for a chargeback. If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -
It was on a mastercard - Should I be attempting less drastic measures before asking the bank for a chargeback?
The last message from them was to contact the police if I thought the signature is wrong, they have also claimed the signature is GPS signed so they know the signature was made close to my house...
The courier must have either "kept" the item or placed it near the house (I've searched the bins etc).0 -
I would say attempting a chargeback is less drastic than calling the police!0

It doesn't matter what eBuyer think ... until the item is in the physical possession of the buyer (or their nominated recipient/storage location) the item has not been delivered.
Just raise the chargeback. If it fails for whatever reason (e.g. the seller's bank can refuse, and eBuyer might use the duff tracking as the reason) then send eBuyer a Letter Before Action then raise an MCOL claim if they still won't budge. (Costs for filing the claim, and a hearing fee if it gets that far, would be added to the claim value).0
