LLoyds to RBS Online payment? How many days?

Making an online payment from Lloyds to a new payee who has an RSB account, then how long will it take for them to see these funds in their RBS bank account?


The same with Lloyds to HSBC, paying an online payment to an HSBC bank account, then how long will it take for them to see these funds in their HSBC bank account?

Both Lloyds to RBS and to HSBC will usually take 'upto' 2 hours.

Especially as they are new payees its possible that Lloyds could delay the payments for fraud checks but even then, they have to legally make the payment by the end of the business day after the business day the payment was made - so a payment made on Friday has to be in the other account by the end of Monday - assuming their checks don't flag anything and you meet whatever daily cut of time Lloyds has for payments.

This is standard across UK and legally required for transfers between current accounts

Most likely outcome is instant.

Worst outcome close of business on the next working day. Extreme scenario would be sending it after COB on the day before Good Friday. In that case it could be as late as COB the following Wednesday before it materialises.
