Mis-sold PPI as self employed

Hi, I have received my mortgage file and it shows that I was sold PPI despite the fact that I was self-employed at the time the mortgage application was made.
Unfortunately the company has ceased trading, and the FSCS has advised that they cannot assist as the policy was sold in March 2004.
Am I able to make a claim against the company that sold the policy to me through the civil courts?
I am surprised that the bank allowed the mortgage when it clearly states on the application that I was self-employed and had self certified, as apparently, this was against banking policies.
Numerous fraudulent acts but apparently not a lot I can do now, outrageous.

Why do you say despite the fact you were self employed?
The vast majority of MPPI covers the self employed.
As the company no longer exists, you cannot take them to court. You would almost certainly lose even if you could.Am I able to make a claim against the company that sold the policy to me through the civil courts?I am surprised that the bank allowed the mortgage when it clearly states on the application that I was self-employed and had self certified, as apparently, this was against banking policies.
Absolute rubbish. Being self employed does not prevent you getting a mortgage. Where on earth did you hear that?Numerous fraudulent acts but apparently not a lot I can do now, outrageous.
What is outrageous are the assumptions you have made. Please, for your own sake, try and ascertain the facts before saying such things.
