The the most important piece of information is to work out your annual use in KWH.
If you go through your bill history and write down all the recorded meter readings with a C or A next to them and the dates they were taken, we can help calculate you annual use. Go back for the last two years at least (if possible).
As you are on an Economy 7 tariff and meter. We can also help calculate your E7 night use %.
Do this for your gas too.
As you have E7 and gas, it maybe worth having a look at your entire set-up (in terms of tariff choice). It may be far cheaper to come off E7, depending on how you are using it.
But, we can only determine that once we have done all the required calculations.
You can then use this information in comparison sites for your area.0 -
Here's another vote for regular readings, regularly submitted to your supplier monthly. In addition, I keep a spreadsheet which shows me exactly what I have "spent" as opposed to what I have paid, and I suspect Cash does, too.
I would also add that it's a good idea, when suppliers try to increase your DD, to point out that they are likely factoring on an annual basis for the future, using their standard rate for however many months are after your fixed rate finishes. I know this has happened to me, so I just point out that I have a regular history of re-contracting and never end up on the standard rate. I have an excellent supplier with second-to-none customer service and they always see it my way. My contracts run from September to September, so as you can see, my DDs tend to taper toward the end of contract, but I get 2% cash back on payments so I'm not too bothered if I have an overpayment.“And all shall be well. And all shall be well. And all manner of things shall be exceeding well.”
