UK Bank Req'd for Portugal Address Expat

Hello, I am a Brit living in Portugal, soon to have a large lump sum payout in Pounds Sterling, in the UK. Although I have held a UK bank account for decades, Clydesdale, I am looking to place this capital with a bank/others that offer the highest interest returns. What UK institutions will allow me to open a new deposit account while having no UK address? Thank you.

You'll struggle as most require UK residency, but you might have a look at NS&I

The Clydesdale group offer an online account that they call B. One of the options that B offers is a savings account with an almost half-decent interest rate (although well below the rate of inflation).
Personally I think that there is no sense in keeping a large sum in deposit since interest rates are so pathetic, but B is likely to be an option for you.0 -
As Cold Iron says, UK residency is normally a condition of holding a personal account with a UK bank. I'm not aware of any that allow non-UK residents to hold one, but if you search around you might get lucky. Being a British citizen is, primarily, irrelevant.0

Thanks to everyone. I do have an account with the Clydesdale, opened while living in UK a long time ago. I just thought it a good idea to shop around for higher interest rates, but looks like I am out of luck with regards the UK.0
