I did a search but couldn't find this question on here and this computer (I'm in the airport at Orlando Florida with a four hour delay). is taking me around in circles when I'm trying to do Google searches.
I want to access my emails - is there a way to access outlook express messages remotely?
I'm on here for free so if no-one else wants to be online I'll be on for about half an hour longer. I'll check back later otherwise.

OOOOHHH!! Trix, I hope you have a great time! (Or are you on the way back?)
The computer you're at would need to be set up with your mail account settings - which I suppose being a public one is a bit impossible - even if you do remember your mail settings & password/username??
If it's webmail you can get it - worth thinking about next time cos then you only have to go to the website & put in user name/ password.
Take care!Torgwen.....................

On my way back Fran - I'm all Disneyed out!. Had a four hour delay on the way here as well!
I went to Bulgaria a couple of years back and accessed my Incredimail emails by just going to their site and putting in my details as far as I can remember. I'm just using OE now but every search I'm doing at the minute even to get onto outlook express help is just trying to get me to download tools.
It isn't that important - I just needed to check a couple of things on a message I got before I left.
At least I've managed to get onto here though! It's a bit freaky though because it's only 6.45pm here but my messages are coming up 11.45pm.
Hope everyone is OK and I haven't missed TOO much!I'm a little angelBUT A WHOLE LOTTA DEVIL

TwiX!
Well I know that Nile has a laptop now, but don't think that he'll be on-line this late!
As Fran said, I always get my e-mail forwarded to a hotmail account whilst I'm out of the country - I know we are closing the gate after the horse has bolted0 -
Yes we're all up late here!
Hope you had fun, though it must be tiring! :rolleyes:Torgwen.....................

A bit late now, perhaps, but for future reference:
Before leaving home, pop into Outlook Express* and select Tools -> Accounts. Select the e-mail account you wish to keep tabs on whilst on holiday, and hit Properties. From the window that appears, select the Advanced tab and check the option 'Leave a copy of messages on server'. If you like, you can also choose to have those same messages deleted from the server after a number of days, or when they are deleted from your computer entirely, from the same menu.
Whilst away from home, you should then be able to access even those e-mails you have already read, because a copy will still be on the server hosting your account. Either log-in from your mail provider's own site, or, alternatively, from Mail2Web.
*If you use Outlook XP as opposed to Outlook Express, you'll find an equivalent set of instructions here.

Besides switching to a webmail-only account, the only other way of accomplishing your aim would be to leave your computer on whilst you were away and set up some kind of web-based remote access service, such as GoToMyPC/pcAnywhere. In comparison to the above, this is rather more complicated, and fraught with possible security pitfalls.0
