Virgin Media callback after cancellation

Just getting ready to do the Virgin Media ring-up-to-cancel-then-await-callback-from-retentions dance. However I'm a broadband-only customer - no landline, no mobile. In the account control panel (My Account / My Profile) I can't see anything about them having my phone number.
So how will they know what number to ring me on to call me back to offer a better deal?
I've been with them for so long whatever number they might have is out of date.
Do they ask for a number when you ask to cancel?
Or do I need to call them to 'update my details' before cancelling?

No, they will not ask for your phone number. If they ring it will be on the number you have registered with them.
Go to your account and see if you can update your details.0 -
Hmm, I suppose I'll have to call them then. There's nothing on their online account that shows my phone number or allows me to change it.0

I meant call them to 'update my details'.
...count to 10...
And then call them to say I'm leaving.
Now whether I should be counting to 10 minutes, days or weeks is another question.0 -
It’s a truism if you’re desperate for a call-back for a deal, you won’t be getting one!0

When I left VM I never got a call back.0

Watch they don't call your bluff0
