Increase amount of PPI claim

Hi,
I would like to know if it is possible to increase the amount of compensation offered by the bank when it comes to PPI. I have been offered £10 k over all 5k compo and 5k the PPI cost. Now when I had this PPI I was on a pretty low income £10k per year. I found it quite hard to pay but I always felt that I needed the protection . Do the banks ever increase it?
Regards,
PB

PPI redress is defined by the regulator and is not somehow negotiable.
How much you earned at the time is irrelevant.0 -
The FCA set the calculation method. It only gets increased (or decreased) if the figures entered into the calculation were wrong. There is no haggling.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Hi,
There is some cases where some extra charges like fees for late payment or over the limit charges could be added ( in my case with barclaycard) and it's usually a goodwill gesture. But in general no. The amount is not subject to negotiation unless you think that the initial PPI figure isn't right.0
