Breed of dog & pet insurance

I have a crossbreed dog. With PetPlan, if I put him down as
Breed A cross (e.g. cocker spaniel cross) = £33/month
Breed B cross (e.g. poodle cross) = £34/month
Fancy portmanteau name for cross of A & B (e.g. cockerpoo) = £46/month
Is there anything to stop me listing him as a Breed A cross? Is it a bit like modifying your job title to get cheaper car insurance, or is there more to it than that? All in the spirit of :money:

I'd not put him down just yet.0

Do you know which crosses he is, and in what proportions? I'd probably put him down as breed A cross. It's technically accurate if he's a half and half.
When I got Gitdog, petplan first of all said they needed to know the mix. When I pointed out he'd been dumped with no history so I could only guess going on his looks they accepted bull terrier x without a problem. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
From what I've been told he's a 50/50 mix of two specific breeds. This seems plausible as we bumped into someone in the park with a dog that looked almost identical and she said hers was the same mix. However, I'm owner 5 (series of private rehomes) and I've no idea who the original breeder is and nor is there any paperwork to support the assumption.0

Then you're giving your best guess - I don't see a problem with that.
Fancy portmanteau name price is probably because of the idiots paying silly money for posh mongrels and puppy farmers jumping on the bandwagon. I'd ignore that and go for A or B, whichever he looks most like. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Thanks - he's nothing as fashionable as a cockerpoo, but apparently anything that can be portmanteaued will be portmanteaued! If anyone asks I say he's a Breed A x B as I can't be doing with people who think these designer crosses are a "breed".
I think we'll go with Breed A cross

Still waiting for that bull terrier shih tzu cross to crop up as a bull shiht.
Gitdog is not a mongrel, he's dual heritage. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

I had someone tell me, with a totally straight face, that their dog was a pooshit. It's a poodle x shih tzu. Apparently <raises eyebrow>0
