CPM / Passed straight to debt collectors

Hello all,
I'm hoping someone can help.
I just received a parking fine for £160 from a debt collectors (DRP) on behalf of UK CPM, claiming I parked without a permit in November.
I had no yellow slip, or previous letters (despite them claiming I'd not responded previously), and as far as I know haven't parked anywhere I shouldn't of (there are sanctioned bays where I usually park).
I've been trying to follow instructions elsewhere on dealing with this invoice, but am not sure how to proceed, as the letters I was supposedly sent from UK CPM never arrived here.
What should be my next step? Any help would be massively appreciated!

Nothing to do that will appeal it (there never was an appeal).
Just read the NEWBIES thread (the 4th post of that sticky is about ignoring debt letters).
Also search the forum for UKCPM and read other threads, to see what normally happens.
PS
= shouldn't HAVEshouldn't of
Please no 'would of, could of, should of' - needs eliminating from everywhere!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks for the advice!
I've read through all the threads, and it's all starting to make sense. One thing I'm still a little unsure about:
The debt collectors letter is effectively my notice to keeper, so I am planning to reply with the IPC template. However, this has arrived after nearly 3 months, with no windscreen sticker. Do I point this out at this stage, or do I save this for if it goes to POPLA?0 -
You have missed that after an initial "appeal" to IPC companies there's no Popls
In fact all you do is ignore everything they send except a lbcca or Court correspondence.
All explained in the Newbies FAQ thread0 -
This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of contracts for alleged parking offences.
Parking Eye, Smart and a smaller company have already been named and shamed, as has Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (who take hundreds of these cases to court, and nearly always lose), who have also been reported to the regulatory authority.
The problem has become so rampant that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. Watch the video of the Second Reading in the HofC recently.

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind most of these companies may well be put out of business by Christmas. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0
