My late mother had a Lloyds Premier Account. She was upgraded without her consent and did not qualify for insurance on age grounds etc. Is it worth my while trying to reclaim ? Is there a time limit and how should I go about it as I do not have any statements ?

Appears to tick some of the boxes in mis-selling. Your first step is to go through the bank's complaints procedure and apply for refund of charges plus interest. If they reject that then your next step is the ombudsman. No time limit that I'm aware of. Here is what MSE says about it:

she was upgraded without her consent
How do you know that?
i.e. you were not present and she is not here to make that allegation.and did not qualify for insurance on age grounds etc.
This could be a potential reason. However, you do not need to qualify for all parts of the package. So, for example, she qualified for 6 of the 7 features, that would be fine. However, if she qualified for 3 of the 7 features, that would not be wrong.is it worth my while trying to reclaim ?
The executor of the estate has the legal right to raise a complaint. If that is you, then you can do it. However, as executor, you cannot make false allegations or unsubstantiated allegations. You have to stick to factual reasons. Is there a time limit and how should I go about it as I do not have any statements ?
Yes there is and we are starting to see some complaints refused as they are timebarred. However, its not possible to say whether that applies to her or not based on what you have told us. Plus, that is still early days so its more likely it isnt.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
