PPI confusion
PMcm
Does the fact I don't know if I paid for PPI alongside my mortgage mean I need to ask them first. The confusion is I had a Britannic Assurance policy to cover the mortgage but paid the interest to Skipton Building Society.
Any ideas?

It would be a good idea to find out if you had PPI before complaining, yes.0

I can!!!8217;t find details of my debtors and my credit history on Clearscore only goes back 6 years, the debts proceed this, any advice on how to go forward on this.
Also I think my ex wife may have fraudulently claimed for debts in my name ... if I was to go through an agent and they found payments have already been made to my ex wife would I still have to pay them a commission and what would they do if they new claims had been made,0 -
You will need to pay anyone you employ. Only ever go through an claims company if you have too much money and need to get rid of some.
If you cannot remember who the lenders were, let alone if you had PPI, I'd suggest your chances are slim of making a successful complaint as to why it was mis sold.0 -
Britannic was a life assurance company. They didnt do PPI. So, that was probably your endowment or life assurance. The confusion is I had a Britannic Assurance policy to cover the mortgage but paid the interest to Skipton Building Society.
If you had MPPI there would have been another direct debit to another insurer. (the standalone nature of MPPI is another reason why most MPPI complaints fail)I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
