Does it have to be Kent? There may some other options not a million miles away in East Surrey / North Sussex areas? Someone was recently asking on here about the Crawley area - places like Redhill, Horley, Crawley, East Grinstead....maybe Lingfield, Godstone, Caterham (although the latter 3 may be budget busters!)..... Just some food for thought.0

As a few others have said there are some great houses for sale in Ashford, these are available through shared ownership which might be an option if you're a first time buyer (nice little write-up on the area too!)
