bleached clothes

daughter has a black pair of cargo pants they have a pink design on the bottom, they are over 2 years old and have been washed loads of times. Anyway today i wash them in with other dark clothes using my usual powder bold and when they have come out of the washer it looks like bleach has been spilt on them. There is very faded grey patches on the bottom of one of the legs. All my other washing is ok, so i have re-washed them but sprayed them with vanish thinking that this might remove the stain. BLut as i guess it is not a stain it looks like bleach has been poured on.
Has anybody and ideas as to what i can do to correct them without dyeing them black and removing the pink flowers which she loves.

    I've heard of a dye that you can get for non-removable covers on furniture, I assume you put it on bit by bit rather cover it all in one go with a machine or something :-/ Would have thought it would work on any material.

    I'll have a search when I've woken up properly ::) ;D

    Hello Saint_Chris

    I don't know which company makes Bold, we've never bought or used Bold for our washing.

    Anyway, have a look at the box/container for their customer services tel number.  Give them a call and ask for advice.  They should be able to give you tips on restoring the garment to its former colour.

    If they aren't very helpful, try Proctor & Gamble or Lever and ask if they can suggest something.

    In the meantime, don't wash the garment because the hot water will fix the staining and make it harder to remove.

    I used to evaluate washing powders and fabric softeners in a research lab.  Bold was crap the worst performer, hence why we never buy it.

    Hope this helps.
