Mac attack

Hi. I am writing to ask for some advice about references. I have been dismissed from a restaurant ( I am not allowed to say fast food, it is fast service restaurant)
The reason for me getting dismissed was actually because of health problems.
My friend will give me a reference and she still works there. Would this be okay?

If your new employer wants an employer reference one from a friend who also works there will not be adequate. Any decent employer will give you the opportunity to explain your reason for leaving. Do you expect the reference to say something different?0

Have you revealed your health problems to your new employer? If not, is that why you don't want to ask your old employer for a reference? They may only give a basic start and end dates reference, but they may also say why you no longer work there.0

Health problems leading to issues with fulfilling your role?
Health problems leading to excessive sickness?
Your new workplace will not take a reference from your friend, not an employment one anyway. Why do you have an issue giving your managers or head office number?0 -
Employers will only take a reference from a manaher or even HR, even then it coukd just state days worked etc.
The thread is titled Mac attack, whats that all about, is it somehow related to the restaurant that has the signage in yellow ?0 -

Thank you for the advice. I will just claim social security instead, until health improves. Mac attack is about the fast service restaurant - it is not fast food and I am not allowed to say signage in yellow. It is actually golden arches.0

Why not stop being ridiculous and just admit it's McDonalds?
I can't see a random burger flipper being made to sign a non disclosure or anything, you're just being melodramatic with all the cryptic nonsense.0 -
No it is about a Wimpy burger bar.0
-
Eugh. It's still half term.0

So you can't say "signage in yellow" but can say "golden arches" which is a trademark of McDonalds?
Seems strange  :rotfl:0
