TVPlayer ... don’t waste your money!!!

I paid £16.95 to TVPlayer.com on Saturday evening to watch the Eubank/Groves fight on my iPad. Literally 10 minutes before the main event started the screen blanked out and continually buffered for the rest of the match. It ruined my night and they have refused to give me a refund.
Don’t waste your money with these cowboys they are nothing but a bunch of conmen who can’t deliver what they promise, has anyone else had similar issues with these people?
Thanks for any input

A lot of those illegal streaming apps get blocked or overloaded with users for big matches/ fights .0

But TVPlayer isn't an illegal streaming app.

Lack of bandwidth available can cause buffering0

You clearly didn't have the bandwidth and there's nothing you can do about it now.I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.

the op or the company that provided the stream?
that can easily be tested by a quick check on other streams , ie youtube , bbc iplayer etc , if they are ok , then its the originating supplier (tv player) thats at fault0 -

I was at a friends house during part of the fight and it was buffering for him as well, and IIRC at one point the commentators said something about video issues.
It looked like it was an issue with the encoding/output from the venue rather than a normal "low bandwidth" issue, and there appear to be mentions of it online from multiple sources stating it was a problem with playout.
My guess is that someone skimped on redundancy at the venue's playout, normal procedure should be for them to have at least two of everything vital from two vision mixers to two connections to the playout centres using different network routes, or they didn't buy enough capacity for streaming service's connection to the public.
If you look round there are a lot of people that experienced the problem, including people on speeds of 200+mb.0 -
We had this same issue: on the laptop we would get a grey screen with a message saying it couldn't find the master file or something, so we had to reload the page.
We ended up having it on the phone and laptop at the same time, so when the laptop dropped out we could still watch (incidentally the phone never lost connection even though it was on the same WiFi network..!).
Can't pretend we were pleased with the service!!!0
