are there any lists of Business Directories

I have got my website listed on most search engines. But was just wondering if anyone has compiled a list of business directories?

So i could go through them and add my bussiness i.e. 192.com 118118.com, friday-ad.co.uk etc

The best one is DMOZ - this is the daddy of them all - get on here (took me about 1 year after I sumbitted, but now I am on page 2 out of about 80 million results for my phrase).

I get a lot of business through Gumtree as well which is free.

One's I'm listed on, off the top of my head - yell.com, thomson local, touch local, scoot


Take out free listings on these sites and you WILL receive sales calls the next day from them. I just (politely) explain to the person that I realise they're on commission, I have no wish to spend money with their company so to get their com. they're better off phoning someone else!

Thanks i have done these and i know what you mean about getting sales calls. I was just hoping someone had created a list. therefore new businesses could just go down the list and just tick them off.
