I use Drontal for routine worming.

If it is for more than routine worming-e.g. lungworm - then you need to see a vet for a POM womer
  • This is what I use on my dogs - it gets the job done well and they'll all take the tablets easily enough. It'll take care of Tapeworm and Roundworms, for anything else you'll need to speak to your vet - but this is all that I give my dogs.

  • I also use Drontal. Never had any issues and it's what lots of vets use anyway

Cestem are the same active ingredient as Drontal but cheaper. But these days I don't worm without signs of worms - you could do a worm count to check for worms.
  • Thanks so much everyone :)

You can buy Drontal online from https://www.hyperdrug.co.uk/Dog-Wormers/products/14/ . Thats where I get for my dog.
There are cheaper online sellers, some of whom specialise in just wormers. (my last lot were from Animed Direct, but I don't need to buy so often, now we're down to only one small dog.)

Cestem is exactly the same formula as Drontal (different manufacturers!) and works out cheaper- well it did last year.
I always buy online from VetMedic or similar- whoever has the best deal. As it's generally cheaper to buy in quantity always ask for the expiry date when ordering. I usually buy for 18-24 months ahead.
    Need them for pet passport

If you have large dogs it is worth buying the large tablet- only one tablet to fight with instead of three!! (They might be meat flavoured but my dogs, as scent hounds! don't choose that flavour!)
