This is for a two person household. I know that is quite a large sum but I shop at Costco once a month, as I like to fill our freezer for any emergencies.
Did my weekly shop today. Just a top-up shop. I have lots of items in the freezer at the moment.
I am now at £17.15/£200
At this rate, I will come in well under budget! :beer:Emergency Fund: £300.01/£1000 (30%) March NST: 2/18 NSDs

Well a horrendous start to our March budget. We have been snowed in for three days and have had to put up my brother and his family at short notice as they couldnt get to their destination. However fortunately I have stocks in so we got fed and watered but it has taken a huge toll on my freezer fridge and cupboards
Sent OH to do some shopping yesterday and think he thought we were in for a second armageddon as he managed to spend £92.27  We are really going to need to tighten our belts for the rest of the month to come in on budget.0 -
Most of our snow has melted so could get to the shops finally! Have bought dinner for tomorrow, a weeks packed lunch for my son, two weeks worth breakfast. Have all I need for Tues and Weds dinners at home so should only need to grab milk and some puds for my son tomorrow and then no need to go in any shops until thus. Well that!!!8217;s what I!!!8217;m telling myself anyway :rotfl:
I!!!8217;ve updated sig and it feels like I!!!8217;ve spent so much already, am really hoping things even out across the week.0 -
good evening everyone,
well I have spent £30 this weekend but hopefully that will keep me going for the week. I have placed milk and bread in the freezer as emergency supplies.
Planning to make "bottom of fridge" soup tomorrow. Will also freeze some portions of that.
I hope everyone is safe and warm.0 -
Evening All.
A couple of shops to declare this weekend. We went to the farm shop today, spending £5.30 on onions, carrots, potatoes, broccoli and eggs. Yesterday, we visited Lidl, buying cheese, hot chocolate, mushrooms, bran flakes and some chocolate for £13.42. We also did a reasonable shop at MrT’s, spending £17.74. We actually spotted a few Value toiletries in MrT’s, but I didn’t stock up because I already have a stockpile of 2L of Value shampoo, 2L of foam bath (for hand wash) and 6 body washes.
Our total spend so far is £36.46/£120, leaving £83.54.
Many thanks to Elsiepac for setting up the thread this month, to Zippychick for all the years she’s put in, to Coxy for the Admin and Lynne for the amazing list of recipes.

Lol! We call this bendy soup, as you put all the bendy things into it! My colleagues at work laugh at me (nicely) for this!!
I've had a nsd today, as per the plan. As time goes on this year, I'm feeling less and less like shopping, or even taking my purse with me when I go out!
Lovely dinner of sausages, cheesy mash and beans tonight, although ds had sweet potato cubed and baked (ys the other day and he loves it!)
PG xGrocery challenge for family of three - me, dd(12) and ds(11), feeding dp 2 or 3 x a week too. Only food, not toiletries. Jan £87.97/£100 Feb £0/£100

Just over £20 spent at the market this morning; they weren't open on Friday or Saturday, so there were some serious bargains to be had on the fruit & veg stalls, as they were overstocked. That bought us meat & cheese for the week, and raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, Sicilian lemons (15 for £1! I feel a few jars of lemon curd coming on...) Nardacotts, broccoli, parsnips, spring onions, celery, shallots & a cabbage. I hope the traders haven't taken too much of a financial hit, but we'll enjoy the bargains.
There'll have to be a L!dls/Makr0 stock-up shortly, but supplies are holding up pretty well & there's not a lot of waste going out to the chickens - mostly just cooked-up peelings and the odd wrinkly apple.Angie - GC Jul 25: £225.85/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0 -
Yesterday I spent £1.98 on random food stuff at the market, £11.05 on food at Co-op, and £15.70 on food, £1.26 on toiletries, and £8.00 on household cleaning stuff at Waitrose.
So my running total for the month is £39.29 on food, £8.00 on household cleaning, and £5.76 on toiletries = £53.05
Today was a NSD, and I'm hoping not to spend any more on groceries until Thursday, and to have two other NSDs before then - and this should be the most expensive week this month.0
