Hi All, I'm hoping that somebody will be able to help me. My car has been written off and I am being offered a value by the insurers which they say they will deduct an amount from if I choose to have the physical car back (I was planning to try and get a bit more money by selling the car for scrap). I had a Fiesta written off in 2012 - valued at £750, they knocked off £23 when I kept the car - ran it for a few weeks then sold it for £75 scrap. If they are saying that the car is worth more than the cost of the repairs, then shouldn't they be repairing it? I thought they usually only write off if it is uneconomical to repair.
