  • I like your outlook :)

How about meditate? yoga, oh or ballet/bellydance with you tube vids? great fun and feels great.
or if in real doubt, bake! That always makes me happy :rotfl:
  • Reading, talking online with people, watching comedy like Frasier on TV or politics programmes. I like sitting down with tea and watching an old black and white film occasionally.

I like decluttering and rearranging my home a lot.:o:p See the Kon Mari thread on here.

Sometimes i look on Pinterest for a new vegan recipe. I haven't done that in a while actually!

Watching a few women YouTubers is my new thing that I do all the time recently. They vlog about their daily life and it is quite interesting to watch as they sometimes go to countries that I haven't been to. It's quite addictive really!:rotfl:
    2025 GOALS
    18/25 classes
    22/100 books

  • I struggle to fit everything into my life, so a day when I could sit and catch up with my book backlog would be bliss!

    Other good rainy day chores:

-fill a binbag with clutter for the charity shop
-sort through all the recipes ripped from magazines and decide if you really are ever going to use them...
-clothes audit ie checking for loose buttons, fraying etc
-sit and listen to records, I never seem to have time to do this!
-write notelets/letters to people who enjoy receiving post, ie elderly relatives or young children
    They are an EYESORES!!!!

I am sitting here looking at piles of fabric, some were given to me yesterday, and some I got from the Scrapstore. It needs sorting and a space found for it in my craft room. I have cut some up to make shopping bags, these now need sewing. This morning I made three cushion covers for cushions someone else gave to me, I've taken them to the church. I noticed that there was a lot of dog poo alongside the paths and a funeral was due to arrive. I rushed home to get a scoop and a plastic carrier bag and picked all the poo up. Just had a sandwich, now need to continue sorting this fabric. I need to go to town, car road tax to be paid, credit card bill to be paid, need to get some dog treats, and a new toilet seat. Need to buy a free motion foot for my sewing machine, struggling to find one. Dog walk to do on Friday, Embroiderers Guild meeting on Saturday, get the house tidied ready for a friend visiting next week. And on top of all this I need to make a video for youtube, and write a blog post every day. Not enough time to do everything.

My current go-to occupation on wet days when I have no canine guest staying is to kick Mr LW off the pc and do a module of my online Dog Behaviour Training course.

Or write the next article for the series I write for the Mensa DogSIG magazine, Paws for Thought, (SIG means Special Interest Group, btw) "A Poo Bag In My Pocket" - about the different dogs I've looked after.

Trouble is, I've only one more module and then the exam to do on the course, and the DogSIG magazine is only published quarterly. So I may yet run out of inspiration. :D

I suppose I can always clean my silver jewellery.....

It is damp and dull here today, so I will be indoors and I feel as though I am about to procrastinate. I want to do something I would call `positive` and normally that would be sewing or knitting but I have overload of sewn and knitted items. I have spent more than 3 years doing MK or equivalent so don`t want to add clutter. I don`t need to bake anything, I have enough temptations in the freezer

I don`t want to go out in the car just because I am in danger of being bored. Reading is nice but not what I personally call a `positive`. Cleaning is positive in that it gives me a good result but the house is clean. I am easily online and that brings shopping temptations, I don`t need anything, so I need to be offline

The best I can think of is to go for a cycle ride later, if the ground dries a bit. That is positive for my health and feel-good factor. What on earth do you do when the day is not conducive to going out and everything is done?

You can't beat a good boxset or thriller movie on rainy days if you ask me!

Part of the joy of going out for a walk, getting all cold and and soaked through and getting home and dry & warm then putting a film/box set on!

  • I like having the wireless on R4 when I am doing a jigsaw (multi- tasking at its best :):):)) or just sitting and listening whilst I knit.

I too could hibernate easily given the chance, but at the moment I am far too busy

Jackie you've hit the nail on the head - listen / watch while doing something else.
I'd go stark staring mad if I had to just sit and listen to music / the radio / watch tv with nothing else to occupy my hands and the rest of my mind.
