  • The car has passed its MOT and had a service, the only thing it needed other than the usual service things, was new spark plugs. I think they must be solid gold ones, they cost a bomb. The mister will go and collect it later.

I'm waiting for prawns to defrost to go in my pie. Once I've done that, I shall get on with this baby jumper. I have no idea what posses me to do a baby jumper with three cable sections and four border sections in each row, tge cables are on different repeats, the borders are on yet another different repeat. And the baby will throw up on it.

My OH has told me that there is a massive glut of dried milk, something to do with either the EU or Brexit, I wasn't listening properly, but if he thinks I am switching to dried milk to Do My Bit, he can rethink that.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back
  • Scarlettribbons you're right I may be cracking on a bit but I take no prisoners and rudeness is unacceptable. I still don't know if she got her parcel or not ,but unless its for my immediate neighbours ,both of whom are lovely lasses then anyone else can whistle Dixie as far as I'm concerened from now on. Crokett ,no chance of anyone creeping into my back door I have a conservatory that I lock automatically when I come in from the garden and also my back kitchen door which leads into it is always kept locked when I am indoors . I think this obnoxious woman was just probably angry and not getting her parcel, but I certainly didn't have it.Not seen hide nor hair of anyone this morning, only thing I can think is my road has one name and across the road it has a different name as its part of another street that bends away at the bottom so its possible it was left at no.57 of the other road IYSWIM. I wait with interest to see what happens :):):) Blooming rain this afternoon so my washing ended up on the airer in the conservatory, but I stripped and changed my bedding, but won't bother putting it in the machine until we look like getting a drying sort of day.

Shopping tomorrow morning followed by U3A coffee morning and quiz night in the evening so a busy day tomorrow

    Keep warm and dry chums

Afternoon - back home after my long day. The mist was so dense that main lights were needed on the car.

Had a lovely lunch at the garden centre / cafe outside Oban, my colleague and I get on so well it's almost a pleasure to work with her.

Came home to a clean house and some moss has been cleared from the garden. It looks good but I think it's too early to do much more until the weather improves.

Reading about everyone's day is such a lovely thing, mine are mostly dull in comparsion. As the weather improves I'll be motivated to do more than just work ad visit Glasgow.

As usual, time for a cup of tea!

My first thought was a 'doorstep scam' where the home owner is distracted at the front door while the accomplice gets in the back door........ but then, I'm a cynical old bag!
That would have been my thought, too.
I'm afraid I just won't take parcels for the neighbours any more. It was getting silly - three or four a week, and often large things that I couldn't manage to lump about, too, so when Mr LW was working they sat in the hall til he got home. So I've decided I'm not a courier service, they can leave a card, and Her Next Door can arrange her own delivery.
I have a video entry phone too, so it's easy to just pick that up and say "no" to the delivery man.

Still trying to fend off nasty bugs, rather lifeless and could fall out with my own shadow/alternatively burst into tears. This is so not me at all and I am sure it will pass soon.

Doing some tidying chores, bins, clothes away etc and determined to make a GF pizza for tea. After some jiggery pokery and a phone call to the man who fitted the tow bar and reversing sensors OH has got everything working on car/caravan combo, so he is a happy chap. WM on a hot wash and some dust to slay, then back to my book, or even resurrect some knitting perhaps.

Have a good evening and healing vibes and loads of spoons as needed.

  • Jackie O, glad you weren't fazed by your bad mannered caller, she might think twice about knocking on your door again!

Has rained here for most of the day, I think tomorrow has to be better.

We've just had a man to give us a price for replacing the bathroom window, and the landing window, not too bad we thought, so going ahead with both. They are old double glazed windows, been in about 17 years, and they are both cracked. Mind, Dh cracked the landing window in an attempt to fix the lock. It's not much, but I suppose eventually it will get condensation between the panes, so we might as well get it done.

Money pours out of this house sometimes. It's the car MOT tomorrow. Will hope for the best.

That virus must like you Nanny Windows, it doesn't want to leave you!
  • The talk of parcels has reminded me of an annoying incident last summer. I got home to find a card through the door saying my parcel had been left behind the wheelie bins. I thought that's strange I haven't ordered anything! Went out to retrieve the parcel and it was for someone on .......... terrace, whereas we are ........avenue! It's quite a walk away so I wasn't best pleased! A less honest person might have opened the parcel to see if it was anything worth keeping!!

I once complained about a courier who had put my parcel into the recycling wheelie bin! His number was on the card so I rang him up and got him to come back & fetch it out... when he arrived I was on the phone to the company's delivery manager who then rang him to have words, as that method of "delivery" was strictly forbidden!
