Just received my passport back yesterday after a renewal. It's been about 10 days since I posted the application.
I was expecing anything from 4-6 weeks so pleasantly surprised.

I was amazed by their efficiency. I started the process by email on Sunday and had a replacement passport by Friday. They sent daily texts and emails telling me where they were up to in the process also. The old passport was returned to me on Saturday.
Whole process from start to finish was less than 7 days.

Me too (took 4 working days) in 2009 and they even phoned me to resolve a minor query. This looks like a long term success story :T0
